It is a good service offered by ur team where i find main USP is quick delivery of the ORIGINAL DVDs. I guess u have a wide range of collection too.
U can adopt innovating marketing strategies :
1st: Informative advertisemnets are essential to make ur ptential consumers abt ur service. Present cosnumers are the best and cheapest medium but adopt different strategy than 50:50 offer for reference. Give trade discount rather than Cash discount like making it Rs 50 instead of Rs100/75. Its costlier for u.
2nd: Introduce COUPONs just like Dominos do.
3rd: Make different membership options such as Gold, Silver etc like credit cards and offer different rates for renting certain number of DVDs during a time period.
4th: U can consider Network Marketing. Make ur prsent consumers ur marketing agents and give them Cash Rewards at the end of each year on the DVDs rented by their first, second and further references. AMWAY concept.
5th: Do not write the addresses on the envelope in hand but use address labels. This would look more professional. Use ur own LOGO on the envelopes and the DVDs.

Catchflix seems to be a marvellous idea. I do appreciate your calling me. But given the fact that every other movie that is listed here is available in any local DVD lending library, I would suggest you to add more foreign language flix. Of course you should add a synopsis or review and include DVD box info (which of course may explicitly disclaim Region Code errors). Bangalore’s intellectual fraternity will simply love you if you can do that.

I am beginning to get used to watching movies only from Catchflix, rather than run down to the local video shop and get a dvd with poor quality and chinglish subtitles (translated back into English from Chinese - very hilarious. http://antibody.za.net/backstrokeofwest/)… I digress…
I think your team is on the right track. With good pricing schemes and professional marketing, I think you can become the Netflix of India.

I feel that the major plus point of Catchflix is the promptness of the service. I think one improvisation that you could make would be to have features like a reduced rate if 3 DVDs are shipped at once and so on.
Also,
It would be great if you could add more foreign language films , especially old classics, and musicals.

I wouldn’t be able to help you on the marketing/pricing strategy, as I’m not a marketing expert. However, what I appreciate is the promptness of service and the quality of the DVDs. On the last count alone it’s worth renting the movies from Catchflix. But the number of movies, especially in the non-Hindi category that I would like to watch are fast running out. Hence, I would definitely urge you to introduce World cinema / foreign language films (take a chapter from CinemaParadisoShop.com). I genuinely feel, it will be a differentiator as apart from Cinemaparadiso and probably Habitat no video parlor offers titles from World Cinema.

I greatly appreciate the home delivery service offered by Catchflix. The synopsis available for movies on your site makes it easier to decide about borrowing a movie.
Suggestion: It would be nice if you could increase your collection of old Hindi movies, not necessarily the hit/popular ones.
I must add though that your present collection of old Hindi movies is far better than most DVD stores in Bangalore.

Rented movies for the first time from catchflix last weekend. I must say I was happy with the overall experience. Service was excellent, dvd quality was good. Website is user friendly. I think my local video store guy is going to lose my business form now on. Most of the time, we used to go all the way there only to find that none of the movies we were looking for is available. Much better to put it on watchlist here and let an email alert let me know when it is available.
Agree with one of the comments above regarding printing addresses rather than handwriting them and having envelopes with your own logos. That will really make it look professional.

I was quite impressed with the smoothness of the online rentals from you guys.
Smooth delivery (courier left with my building watchman - I had left written instructions - as I had to step out) and pick up (courier picked up from the office). Really liked this service as this was my biggest concern.
As expected - original DVDs so really good quality. I guess fighting the piracy will be a challenge for you. Wish you luck there.
Great idea about pay per use. As a suggestion I might add that people are usually willing to pay a little more for the flexibility so great.
I like the online stuff and willing to pay premium if required for service and this works perfect to my liking.
One suggestions - I think it will require some more back end stuff. Allow for bookings a week in advance. Especially something like a Monday for Friday delivery.
Overall fantastic stuff. Something I have been waiting for. Keep it up and good luck to you all.

Hi Vinay, I stumbled upon your website when I was desperately looking for someone who can rent DVD’s in Hyderabad. Except for your website no one else was offering this service to Hyderabad. First I was skeptical about if this is a real company or another internet fraud…I took all the care to check the websites legalities, after satisfying myself I placed an order for one DVD. I was surprised to receive the DVD to my door and that too delivered by BLUE DART. After that I rented about 10 DVD’s and I am happy about the quality of your service and your DVD’s.
I thank you for extending your services to Hyderabad. I introduced couple of my friends to your site and I will keep doing it.

the first thing i would like to suggest you to introduce a free trial plan for your customer for the limited period,becu this help you in two ways,first the customer who will be enrolling under free trial plan will not,at the end of the trial plan,discontinue with the membership,not some,many of them will retain with the service,provided they like the services & second it will also help you in the promotional activities of the company.

I was initially a bit skeptical using this mode of movie rental in India. However, having gone ahead and actually used your services, I realize that was misplaced as I was quite pleasantly surprised with your efficiency.
I do hope that you will enhance your collection based on the feedback provided in the response forms.

Hi Catchflix team,
Last week, I used your service for the first time and was indeed impressed. This exactly the kind of stuff that I was searching for and now having found it, looks like I am going to stick with it for a long time (at least as long as your service remains the way it is now).
Some highlights which I really liked about your service:
+ There is no “refundable-deposit” money asked. Simply terrific. I just had a nasty experience with a parallel service like this one and I saved my money in the nick of time.
+ Really smart move to outsource logistics to a reliable vendor like blue-dart.
+ Prompt Delivery (I got my DVD bang on the date I was assured, I would). I just hope this not a one time wonder.
+ Pricing is very acceptable. Considering the fact that we get to see Original DVDs.
+ The best part was the inclusion of packing material for the return of the DVD, with self-addressed envelop - too good.
Some Suggestions:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
+ Please change the plastic covers in which you send the DVDs. There is a fair chance of scratching the disc when putting in or taking out of that cover. I understand that it is very convenient from the courier point of view. But then your USP is a blemish-free DVD.
+ The return-pickup times are a bit erratic, if you could do something about it.
Overall it is a great experience, and for once in the Indian market, we have somebody to whom we pay money and get quality service.
Keep up the good work Team. But remember, this is just the beginning.

Hi,
I just joined catchflix today and have just ordered movies online. I have been looking for a cost effective online DVD rental service for a while now and was pleasantly suprised to find catchflix. I have not seen any advertisements on catchflix, so far. Why is that so? I have heard about Seventymm through my work place (advertisements were available on campus) but was not very happy with the deposits, registration fees and recurring monthly payments. I find catchflix payment scheme very attractive. No additional charges.
Also, I must congradulate catchflix for designing a website that works, looks good and is eco-friendly. You are saving a lot of energy by using a black background. Please continue to do so.

Initially i was sceptical about the entire concept, especially considering that this was an initiative driven out of India - where fly-by-night operators abound. However, i have been very impressed with the level of service and professionalism. While there are areas of improvement, its by far the best on-line rental around currently. Pricing also is spot-on. But i think the key differentiator is the thought leadership. This gets reflected in the constant features being added at regular intervals - movies being categorized by themes, awards, etc. Clearly indicates that you are constantly analysing and incorporating customer feedback into continuously improving the overall product and service quality.

Great serivice (once again). I have ordered movies a couple of times now and have no issues on that front.
Just wanted to point out that there seems to be a bug in your site!
+ My watchlist DOES NOT show all the movies that I have added.
+ I get email notifications that I can NOW RENT movies that I added to watch list as they are available. But when I login to the site, I see that they are NOT available
Can you get your developers take a look at it?

Nice work, if you can maintain these service levels , you would really do well.
May be its a bit early in your scheme of things, but if you could add some kind of Customer care , that would be add value some kind of pooled ccare services.
would like to know, how you manage your dvd logistics, is it like the same movie collection is duplicated in all the cities you serve. I was toying with the idea to open up a dvd rental , and its really nice to see all of what i wished to have in my plans, with catchflix.

I really appreciate your service and support in delivery and pick-up of the
DVDs on-time. The excellent part of your service is there is no initial
registration payment and deposit amount required. And I really like your website look, categorization and trailors provided. It would be more useful and attractive if you can rate the DVDs.

I come from an industry where we respect response time and timely delivery. I am really impressed with your service - I always get your response on time and the DVD’s too are delivered by the specified deadline. Keep up the good work!
I was also impressed by your problem solving ability. I had made the payment for two DVD’s but did not get any confirmation mail. I was slightly worried as the amount had been debited from my account. However, your response to my query was really helpful as you had released my order.
Would it be possible for you to send a mail to all your customers as soon as you have added new DVDs to you collections?

Earlier I used to visit shops to findout new DVD releases. The process was painful and you never used to get the DVDs in first try specially the old movies which I had missed….

Hi Vinay, Ira and the rest of the Catchflix team,
I wanted to wait a while before writing a feedback, so I rented 20 movies over a period of time and now it’s time I wrote you guys a feedback.
Lets go with the plus points first:
1. Excellent website - neat and well designed.
2. Helpful movie info, and the link to the yahoo movies page really helps.
3. Great pricing options.
4. Convenient model of home delivery and pick-up.
5. Very cordial, helpful and prompt on the phone for any issues that have cropped up.
6. Quality of DVDs - I remember Ira refusing to send a movie I had ordered because she had found it to be scratched.
A few of the areas of improvement:
1. Need a wider movie base. I know it’ll take time, but you must strive to get there sooner.
2. Deliveries are usually on time. Pick-ups need follow-up. Not much of an inconvenience to the customer, but subsequent rentals suffer.
3. You need to have multiple copies of popular titles - can never find them available as they are always out.
All in all, in me you have a rather satisfied customer. I have recommended Catchflix to many of my friends and some of them have actually started renting out movies from you guys. I’ve not been bad mouthed yet, so I guess they must be reasonably satisfied too.

have had a good experience till now. the dvd quality is pretty good. and am happy with the delivery service as well, except for a delay here and there.
i am currently looking for renting various TV series/sitcoms (american ones) and your collection does not seem to have many of them. so would suggest you to update your collection. you may even want to add an attractive rental for an entire season dvd of a tv series.
also, i may suggest you to come up with some reward plan for your regular members. say a movie credit for every 10 dvds rented, etc.

Hi,
The service is prompt but I wish you stock more DVDs of popular titles. Like it’s almost impossible to get a newly launched DVD on your site. It takes at least 1.5 months to get it. By then it gets screened on TV or something.
Anyway my piece of advice for catchflix would be to stick to class to a loyal base of customers who are connoisseurs of cinema, introduce more world cinema. Have sections like best of Japanese, Best of Polish cinema et al. I wish you could reward loyal customers in some form.

You are really doing it great. But please make sure before delivering weather the delivery address falls in aramax courrier services region. It is really painful after i got my transaction successfully thrice thru blue dart you change the courrier service and the package return back as it is not within service range of aramax.
